Dharmishta Mithran made a beginning of the social work

in the field of organising medical camps, environmental cleanliness and providing sports and fitness equipment. At the instance of Late Shri Pramod Shirwalkar, then MLA from Chembur the Mithran has adopted the village Jai Ambe Nagar and taken up activities which would raise the quality of life of those people. Many short-term measures followed. Books for the school children, aid in both cash and kind for rehabilitation after the residents were devastated by the 26/7 floods, a gymnasium for the youth, were some of the measures taken by Mithran for the residents there. Water supply to Jai Ambe Nagar was in tankers once or at the best twice a week. With close interaction with MCGM and the local corporators, DM sponsored a new water pipe line that was laid ensuring regular water supply to the residents of Jai Ambe nagar as also to the Apara Kriya Centre.

Mithran has adopted an entire village called Jai Ambe Nagar and taken up activities

The fresh line, costing over 2 lacs, became operational from Sunday the 20th. November 2005. Later this was augmented with a new connection from the 6” mains itself and the Village has now 24 hours metered water supply. Similarly, the gymnasium sponsored by DM with separate structure and equipment has become functional from the 23rd. of October 2005.

The village is now connected by an asphalted road with a retaining wall on the side of the pond. Fixing Electricity poles on the road are being pursued with MCGM. The pond is provided with boundary walls and steps, which is found useful by the villagers as well as the users of AK centre due to safe access. A community development plan of the area has been drafted and is being followed up with MHADA, for de-silting and beautification of the pond in front of the Aparakriya Centre. The pond renovation will not only bring back the glorious tradition of the past but also be a user-friendly facility for the Aparakriya rites and the Ganapathy immersion.

Feeding of the Orphans and poor is undertaken at least once a month with volunteers joining in with enthusiasm for distribution of food packets.
